Aboriginal Consultative Committee – Expression of Interest

Thank you to everyone who expressed their interest in our Aboriginal Consultative Committee. We received a large number of applications and a panel will convene to recommend candidates for the endorsement of the TFM Executive Director.

Purpose of the Aboriginal Consultative Committee

  • Provide high level timely strategic advice and guidance to TFM and the TFM Board in relation to Aboriginal children, young people, families and communities ensuring our work is effective and culturally appropriate.
  • Aboriginal people will have a voice in programs and services developed by TFM.
  • Inform the design and delivery of TFM programs and projects to ensure they are meeting the needs of Aboriginal children, young people, families and communities.
  • Committee will be consulted on matters relating to or impacting on Aboriginal children, young people families and communities.

Eligibility

The Expression of Interest for the Their Futures Matter Aboriginal Consultative Committee closed on Sunday, 5 April 2019.

Successful applicants must be Aboriginal and/ or Torres Strait Islander and reside in NSW. The committee meetings will be held quarterly in Sydney.

Successful applicants may be subject to:

  • National Criminal Records check
  • Working with Children check

Aboriginal community members will be receive remunerations and allowances consistent with the guidelines set out by the Classification and Remuneration Framework for NSW Government Boards and Committees.

Aboriginal committee members who are representing their government agency or organisations are not eligible to receive remuneration or sitting fees.

Expression of Interest process

  1. Expressions of interest closed on Sunday, 5 May 2019.
  2. Each candidate will be reviewed by a panel. The panel recommendations will be put forward to the Executive Director TFM for endorsement.
