Their Futures Matter will implement an investment approach to direct and prioritise whole-of-government funding, resource allocation and service targeting.
The investment approach is built on whole-of-government data, best available evidence, outcomes monitoring and continuous improvement. The approach aims to improve life outcomes for vulnerable children and families in NSW. It will ensure that the efforts of Government are directed to areas of greatest need, with the services and resources required for the best outcomes for vulnerable people.
Investment will often mean targeting the interventions to provide additional support to keep children safe and families together.
By moving away from a crisis-driven system, this investment approach is expected to improve life outcomes for vulnerable children and families and increase efficiency of investment across government.
The integration of evidence into practice will help determine where the greatest impact is being made. Strong and robust evidence will direct funds to where they are most needed, and to scaling up interventions which demonstrate success in improving outcomes.
We are constructing a comprehensive model to identify patterns of service interaction and long-term outcomes for vulnerable people. With a better understanding of the drivers of vulnerability and associated outcomes, we will re-direct the effort of Government to prioritise support, with funding linked directly to improved life outcomes.
Our vision is to create a coordinated service system that delivers evidence-based, wraparound supports for children and families to transform their life outcomes.
